Most questions about AI fall into two groups: questions about the technology itself, and questions about our class. Click any question to read the answer.
This is the question almost everyone starts with, so let us answer it plainly. For most businesses, the honest evidence points the other way. The work AI is good at is the repetitive, time-consuming part of the day, the kind of work your best people should never have been buried under in the first place. Take that away and you do not get a smaller team. You get the same team doing the work that actually grows the business.
The way we put it is that AI does not replace a capable person. It makes them formidable. The receptionist who used to spend her morning on routine email and scheduling becomes the person who handles the things only a person can. That is the shift worth aiming for, and it is the one we teach toward.
It feels like one at first, and that is exactly the trap. For twenty-five years we have trained ourselves to talk to computers the Google way: type a few words, read the snippets, click a link, close the tab. That is a transactional pattern. One question, one answer, then it forgets you exist.
AI rewards a completely different habit. It is closer to a colleague than a search box, one you can brief, argue with, and come back to tomorrow, and it gets more useful the more of your actual work you bring it. People who use it like Google get about five percent of what it can do and conclude it is overhyped. The whole point of fluency is leaving that habit behind.
No. If you can hold a conversation and use a web browser, you have the skills you need. There is no coding involved in working with AI as a colleague, and none in our class. The barrier was never technical. It is knowing how to talk to the tool, which is a habit, not a qualification, and it is exactly what we teach.
This deserves a careful answer rather than a comforting one. When you type something into a consumer AI tool, that text is sent to the provider's servers to be processed. Different tools and different plans handle storage and privacy differently, and the terms change over time, so the sensible habit matters more than any single policy.
The simplest rule, and the one we teach, is this: if you would not be comfortable putting it on a public website, do not paste it into a public AI tool. For genuinely sensitive material, client records, financials, anything regulated, there are safer ways to work, including business-grade plans with stronger protections and anonymizing your data first. We cover how to make these judgments sensibly on the day, so you can get the value without the exposure.
Yes, it can produce something confident and wrong, and pretending otherwise would do you no favors. A fluent user expects this and works around it rather than being caught out by it. The one rule that never changes is simple: always check what matters. Use AI as a fast, tireless, disinterested second opinion, and keep your own judgment in the chair.
We give a whole session to exactly this, where AI genuinely helps, and where to keep your eyes open. Knowing the limits is part of being fluent, not a reason to stay away.
You do not need forty apps. You need a few genuinely capable tools, learned properly, and the judgment to know which to reach for. We build our own working lives around Claude as the thinking and writing colleague, with Gemini alongside it as a strong second mind, and two specialists, ElevenLabs for voice and Kling for video, for when you need them.
Here is the part that matters most, though: the skill you build is transferable. Learn to hold a real working conversation with AI and that skill serves you whatever tool you, or your company, end up standardizing on. We lead with Claude because it is where fluency is easiest to learn, not because the tool is the point. The way of working is the point.
Less than most people expect. The leading tools each offer a free tier worth trying, and a paid personal plan that typically runs around twenty dollars a month, which is where most professionals end up. Business and team plans cost a little more per person and add shared access and stronger data protections.
The honest framing is not what it costs but what it returns. A tool that saves a capable person several hours a week pays for itself many times over. We will help you understand the options so you choose the plan that fits how you actually work.
Start with one real task, not the whole technology. The people who get value from AI are not the most technical. They are the ones who picked one specific piece of their own work, an email they dread, a report they put off, a pile of data they have never made sense of, and worked it through with the tool. The ones who find it disappointing started with the tool and went looking for a use.
That is precisely how the class is built. You bring your own real work and leave having done some of it, faster and better. The overwhelm comes from trying to learn everything. The cure is doing one real thing well.
No. Most people are still using AI like a search box and getting a fraction of its value, which means the real gap is not between you and the experts. It is between the search-box habit and the fluency habit, and almost nobody has crossed it yet. The window to get genuinely ahead is open right now. Starting deliberately today puts you in front of most, not behind them.
Only if you let it. Used badly, as a vending machine for generic content, it produces generic results that sound like everyone else. Used well, it learns your voice, your context, and the particulars of your work, and helps you do more of what already makes you distinctive. The judgment, the relationships, the taste, those stay yours. AI handles the work around them so you have more room for the part only you can do.
It is for business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals who know their way around a computer and a browser, who may already dabble with AI, and who want to stop dabbling and start working with it seriously. No technical or AI background is assumed, and the small group of just sixteen means you are never lost in a crowd. If you can use a laptop, you will keep up comfortably.
You leave with a way of working, not a folder of notes. By five o'clock you will have held real working conversations with AI, built your first Projects around your own work so the tool stays up to speed on what you are doing, turned some of your own raw material into something usable, and moved at least one genuine task from your week meaningfully forward. The full breakdown, module by module, is in the downloadable syllabus on the class page.
A full day of hands-on teaching from nine to five, lunch and refreshments, all three Approachable books to take home, a digital resource kit, a Certificate of Completion, and ongoing small-group support afterward. The books alone cover every part of the day, so nobody leaves empty-handed, and everyone has a resource to keep building from.
Bring your own laptop and a few pieces of real work, a document or contract, a spreadsheet, an email you find difficult, a report you dread, whatever you would genuinely like to get further on. The more real the material, the more you take away. You do not need an AI account beforehand; we will get you set up on the day. If you already have one, bring your login. And bring only what you are comfortable working with in a small group, you always choose what to use.
Because fluency has to be learned on something, and Claude is where it is easiest to learn, but the skill itself travels. We lead with Claude and show how it orchestrates the wider toolkit, then make the underlying method explicit so it applies to whatever AI you use now or adopt later. Plenty of attendees come using one tool and leave applying the same way of working to it, only far more effectively. The tool is the starting point. The fluency is what you keep.
Yes. Alongside the public classes, Altius Intelligence runs private workshops, consulting, and corporate training built around a single organization's own work and tools. If you would like to get a team fluent together, get in touch and we will design something that fits your business. It is one of the most effective ways to move a whole company from dabbling to genuinely working with AI.
If your question is not answered here, we would be glad to help. The next class is Thursday, July 16 in Gilbert, with just sixteen places.
